Minced Beef and Green Bean in Tomato-Base Sauce

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Rice, for serving



  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, stirring occasionally, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes (with their juice), green beans, and water to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are tender and the sauce has thickened, about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Serve the spicy minced beef and green bean over rice and enjoy!
