Chocolate muffin with a cup of tea

Hey foodies!

Looking for a chocolatey treat that’s perfect for breakfast or a mid-day snack? Look no further than these delicious chocolate muffins! They’re easy to make and so tasty, you’ll be coming back for seconds (and maybe even thirds!).

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Give it a good whisk so everything is well combined.

  3. In a separate large bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Keep mixing until everything is combined and the sugars have dissolved.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Don’t overdo it or you’ll end up with tough muffins.

  5. Fold in the chocolate chips. You can use as much or as little as you like (we won’t judge if you add extra!).

  6. Fill the muffin cups about 2/3 full with the batter. You should get about 12 muffins.

  7. Bake the muffins for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean. Don’t overbake them or they’ll be dry and sad.

  8. Let the muffins cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Or just eat them straight out of the oven, we won’t tell.

Now grab a muffin (or two) and enjoy the chocolatey goodness!
