  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Using a pastry blender or your fingers, cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Stir in the granola.

  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract.

  6. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  7. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for a few seconds.

  8. Pat the dough into a circle about 8 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick.

  9. Cut the dough into 8 wedges and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  10. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.

  11. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.

  12. Serve warm with your favorite toppings such as honey, jam, or butter.
